On December 13, 2024, the “White Coat Wearing Ceremony” was held at Prof. Dr. Bahaeddin ÖGEL Conference Hall for the 1st and 2nd-year students of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Health Sciences, Fırat University. Fırat University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İrfan KAYGUSUZ, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Gamze KIRKIL, Head of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics Prof. Dr. Gökçe KAYA, faculty members and staff of the department, 1st and 2nd-year students and their families attended the ceremony.

The program started with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, followed by opening speeches by the Dean and then by the Head of the Department. In these speeches, it was emphasized that the white coat, which is accepted as an important symbol of the process of stepping into professional life, represents professional ethics, responsibility and respect for human health.

After the opening speeches, the students were invited to the stage in certain groups and put on their white coats in the presence of Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İrfan KAYGUSUZ, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Gamze KIRKIL, Head of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics Prof. Dr. Gökçe KAYA, faculty members and lecturers. This meaningful ceremony was considered as the starting point of a professional journey for future nutrition and dietetics experts.

The ceremony ended with a closing ceremony after souvenir photos were taken. This special day of our university was crowned with the pride and excitement our students shared with their families and academic staff while contributing to their professional development.
