PROCEDURES AND PRINCIPLES REGARDING THE EXAMINATION PROCESS FOR MANDATORY COURSES
1. Examinations for the mandatory courses listed in Article 5(ı) of the Higher Education Law No. 2547, namely Atatürk Principles and Revolution History, Turkish language, foreign language, and occupational health and safety mandatory courses (5ı Courses) are conducted collectively on the specified date and time in accordance with the Fırat University Associate and Bachelor's Degree Social Elective and Common Mandatory Course Guidelines.
2. The exam documents for each course (Foreign Language, Principles of Atatürk and History of the Revolution, Turkish Language, and Occupational Health and Safety) are distributed to students separately.
3. The exams are 30 minutes long for each course. A 15-minute break is given after each exam for the procedures of the next scheduled exam. Examination supervisors must be present at their assigned location at least 30 minutes before the examination begins.
4. Examinations will begin and end at the specified times in all units. Students arriving late to the examination will not be admitted, regardless of the reason. Students taking consecutive examinations cannot leave the examination hall until they have completed all their consecutive examinations.
5. The lists of students taking the exams are prepared separately for each course by the relevant departments. These lists are announced by the relevant department chair at least one day before the exam date. One copy is given to the proctor in the exam room, and another copy is posted on the exam room door.
6. Students whose names appear on the exam lists for each session will be admitted to the exam hall after undergoing an identity check. Students are prohibited from bringing any communication devices into the exams. Students found to be in violation of this rule during the exam will have their exam invalidated, and the relevant disciplinary measures will be applied. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that their full name, booklet type, student number, and/or Turkish ID number are entered correctly on the exam answer sheet. If any of this information is missing or incorrectly coded, the student's answer sheet will not be evaluated, and the exam score will be automatically recorded as “zero” in the OBS system. This situation will not be considered for exam appeals.
7. At the end of the exam, the exam documents are kept by the relevant departments and delivered to the unit exam representative.
8. The evaluation of exam papers, their announcement, and the processing of any appeals are the responsibility of the relevant unit and the teaching staff member in charge.
9. Exam dates are determined through consultation between the unit managers responsible for the course and the unit managers where the students are enrolled. Announcing the exam dates is the responsibility of the unit offering the course. Exam dates and the announcement of results cannot be made outside the dates specified in the academic calendar.
10. These principles shall enter into force after their approval by the Senate.
The principles regarding the examination procedures for the courses listed in Article 5(ı) of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 were approved by the Senate at its meeting dated October 27, 2025, and numbered 2025-2026/2.
